I think you can tell a lot about a person by their Bucket List!
I’ve crossed a lot off the list so far in my life (Check out more Travel Guides HERE). However, there are a LOT more destinations that feature regularly in my dreams. So let’s get to know each other and see if you agree with my choices…

1. Banff, Canada

After living (and being stuck working) in Ontario, Canada for the past 9 months, all I can think about is how desperately I want to explore this beautiful country. Canada had never been on my travel radar before I met my Canadian boyfriend. When we decided to move here, I remember the first image that came up on my google search was of the shockingly blue lakes and greenery of Banff – and I have not stopped dreaming of it ever since. Give me a canoe and a beer and I will happily go moose-spotting and fishing all day! Officially on the Bucket List.

2. Tour of Italy

I spent a long weekend in Rome with my parents a few years ago and it was the best city break I have ever experienced. The Italian locals are so happy (and why wouldn’t you be with that cuisine on hand whenever you want it?), the history is fascinating and there are so many stunning places to visit throughout the country. I plan to dedicate at least several weeks when I can tour Rome (again), Venice, Verona, Milan, Naples, Cinque Terre, San Marino and more whilst yelling ciao bella! to strangers and eating all the pasta I can fit into my stomach.

3. Machu Picchu, Peru

What would a Bucket List be without this ultimate trekking experience?! After my trek in the Taman Nagara rainforest in Malaysia, I learnt that there is no better motivation to accomplish a long trek than a breathtaking view to reward yourself with at the end!  I think Machu Picchu is the ultimate post-trek reward and I would hate to miss out witnessing this truly beautiful 15th-century ruin nestled within stunning mother nature.

4. Safari, Africa

I always feel uncomfortable about seeing animals caged in small enclosures. Of course, I know zoos increase awareness and contribute important work and study towards conservation, but the niggling feeling that it’s wrong is always in the back of my mind! As I grew up watching Disney’s the Lion King, I have always dreamed about viewing lions, elephants, tigers, zebras, etc in the wild where they belong. Seeing some of Africa’s native animals in their true home would stay with me forever.

5. Tomorrowland, Belgium

This might not be on everyone’s Bucket List, but you only have to watch the YouTube video trailers and you’ll be hooked!! When I was at university, my friends and I got SO close to nabbing the hottest tickets in the world. We were a fraction of a second too late filling in our details and the tickets sold-out (and I’m not sure I have ever gotten over it…) The incredible artistic fantasy electronic dance festival is held in Boom, Belgium every summer. The best international DJs perform and it is attended by thousands upon thousands of revellers from around the world. Ultimate festival goals.

6. Green hills and castles of Scotland, Wales and Ireland

One of the biggest things I learnt when backpacking SE Asia was how crazy it was that I travelled all that way to see beauty when it had literally been available on my doorstep my whole life! Born in England, I never left my country to explore my UK neighbours and they are definitely well and truly on my list today.

7. Hotels on Stilts, Bora Bora!

OK, so this may be Instagram basic but you cannot deny the absolute luxury and paradise shown in this photo! Bring me a Cosmo, my favourite book and I will easily spend the rest of my days here.

8. Day of the Dead, Mexico

My friends will tell you that I have always been a lover of costume parties and Halloween. I love getting my creativity juices flowing as we brainstorm ideas on what to transform ourselves into, what makeup to use, what characters to play. The ultimate costume party is of course Day of the Dead, a multi-day holiday celebrated throughout Mexico. Not only is it a chance to show your artistic skills, it is most importantly a chance to celebrate and remember the lives of loved ones who have passed. I absolutely love the idea of being in this crowd!

9.  The Great Wall of China

My favourite book as a child was ‘Chinese Cinderella’ by Adeline Yen Mah,  an autobiographical fiction following the life of a young girl as she grows up in China. Since then, I have always been interested in Chinese culture, their beautiful symbolic language, fascinating legends and turbulent history. To walk along the Great Wall of China would be unforgettable and I look forward to feeling the history all around me and taking in the beautiful landscape. BUCKET LIST.

10. Northern Lights

There is something absolutely out of this world about the Northern Lights! It’s like you’re lucky enough to get a glimpse into the hidden magic of the world and an important reminder that there is so much more out there than we know about. I want to wrap myself up warm somewhere by a still icy lake, and gasp in excitement as the first flicker of blue lights up the sky.  I’ve always been a stargazer and I can’t get enough of that wonder that fills your heart when you catch a glimpse of a shooting star.  I think the Northern Lights would be that feeling x 1,000 and I cannot wait to experience it!
